Snorkeling time! Went to Pengabatang Island. There were 2 snorkeling spots. Unfortunately, the visibility was very limited because of the current. But all is well. We had great time eating lunch on the island and taking some great pictures.

Day 4

Today we’re visiting a community of woman weavers of Lepo Lerun at Sikka Regency. After a quick stop at Museum Bikon Blewut, we headed to Nita Village. We were greeted by the group of woman and they asked us to dance together. Rokatenda, that’s the name of the dance. Afterwards, they showed us the weaving process, from cotton to a piece of cloth. They use natural materials for the dyes.

We had a great time there, we giggled almost all the time and took many many pictures :D

After spending too much time at Lepo Lerun, we need a quick lunch. The option? Padang restaurant, of course. And with our tummies full, we spent the rest of the day driving from maumere to larantuka, stopping a few times to take in the beautiful scenery along the way.

Oh, and we asked our driver to play a very catchy maumere song called Gemu Famire.
‘’putar ke kiri e.. nona manis putarlah ke kiri ke kiri ke kiri ke kiri dan ke kiri ke kiri ke kiri ke kiri manisee... sekarang kanan e.. nona manis putarlah ke kanan ke kanan ke kanan ke kanan dan ke kanan ke kanan ke kanan ke kanan maniseee...’’
Google it if you’re curious. There’re so many versions of this song. They even have it in Bataknese style with modified lyrics.
