First time setting foot in Sumbawa! So excited!

Made a drastic change to the itinerary just one week before departure.

The original itinerary was a laid-back trip to the beaches on the western part of sumbawa.

But then we changed the itinerary coz we want to visit the north coast of Sumbawa Island, to the famous moyo island and satonda lake.

Day 1

13 May 2015

Took a 6 pm flight from jakarta to lombok. Spend the night at santika mataram.

Day 2

14 May 2015

Start at 7 am. Drive 2 hours from Mataram to Kayangan Port on the eastern side of Lombok. Continue with 2-hour ferry to Pototano port in Sumbawa. From Pototano, we rent a small boat to Kenawa Island, a picturesque small island, located a mere 10-15 minutes boat-ride from Pototano.

We had our late-lunch on the island and enjoyed the sea breeze for a while. In the afternoon, we went back to Pototano and continue to Sumbawa Besar. It takes another 2-hour ride from Pototano to Sumbawa Besar. We’re going to spend the night at Samawa Transit Hotel.

We had a local cuisine called ‘’sepat’’ for dinner at Pantai Goa. The broth/soup is too spicy for me.

Day 3

15 May 2015

Start from the hotel at 6.30 am. We rent a speedboat departing from Pantai Goa. Our first stop for today is Satonda Island. It took 2-hour by speedboat. We saw some dolphins on our way from Pantai Goa to Satonda.

Satonda island is famous for its ‘salt-water lake’. And you can find a wishing tree on the island. How to make a wish? You tie an offering to the tree (typically the offering is in the form of small stones nearby, but u can find people tying a empty bottle of aqua as well) and make your wish. 
But they say u have to come back to satonda if your wish became reality. U have to come back and say thank you.

If u want to take a nice picture of satonda from the top, u can do a 30-minute hiking. Well it took 30-minute for me. But for people who exercise regularly, probably only takes 15 to 20 minutes :D

Our next destination is Labuan Aji at Moyo island. We will spend the night at a homestay at Labuan Aji. The journey by speedboat is approximately 1 hour. Unfortunately, on our way from satonda to labuan aji, the speedboat’s engine stopped working, the propeller detached itself from the engine :P

We were left stranded on an empty beach for 1,5 hours waiting for help :P

Finally we were able to reach Labuan Aji. It was already 3 pm. We had our late-lunch and in the afternoon, around 4.30 pm, we went snorkeling to takat segale and enjoyed the sunset.

Day 4

16 May 2015

Start at 7 am from our homestay in Labuan Aji. We’re heading to the famous Mata Jitu Waterfall today. From the homestay, it takes approximately half an hour by motorbike and a 10-minute light trekking. The waterfall with its turquoise water is very beautiful. We spent 2-hours enjoying the scenic view and the cool water.

Next stop is Amanwana. Yes! Amanwana! We’re going the have a fancy lunch at this very well-known place. You can feel the soothing ambience once you stepped your foot at Amanwana. Surely it’s a place for the rich and famous to rest and relax.

We spent around 3,5 hours at Amanwana.

So this is our last stop on this trip. We have to get back to Sumbawa Besar. And then to Pototano. And then to Mataram. And then back to Jakarta.
