It’s been ages since my last ‘’business mixed with pleasure’’ trip.

This time around, I get to spend my time in malang tasting some of malang’s famous foods, visiting a very nice eco green park, taking tons of pictures at bromo and its surroundings, and last but not least, experiencing the excitement of tandem paragliding.

We stayed at the brand new Atria Hotel. I had some bad experiences here, so I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. Anyway, for my culinary experience in malang, please click here

I love malang. And there’s always a bit of new thing to do and experience each time i revisit this town.

On our third day in malang, we went to visit Eco Green Park. I think this is a very fine place, especially for families with kids. The place is clean and somewhat able to convey their ‘eco’ message. For Indonesia’s standard, I think this place is above par.

After Eco Green Park, we went to the famous Batu’s alun-alun.

mount bromo - revisited

My last visit to mount bromo was on July 2009.

So I think it’s only appropriate to revisit this awe-inspiring place.

We departed from Malang at 12.30 am and arrived at Mount Pananjakan at 3 am. 

We went to Pananjakan via Tumpang by Helios Transport’s land rover.

After taking a sip of hot tea, we have to go to the viewing point and find a spot. And then we had to wait about 1 hour . Freezing. Thank God the sun rises earlier this time of the year. I couldn’t imagine if I have to wait for 2 hours in that kind of temperature.

The sunrise viewing spot was way more crowded than I imagined. Crowded and unorganized. People went through the fence.. people stand on the very top of the fence.. people standing right in front of the other people.. all in the name of ‘wanting to enjoy the beautiful scenery laying in front of their eyes’.  Well, it’s good that u appreciate nature that much, but wouldn’t it be better if we could all just be civilized and organized and enjoy the beautiful scenery by ourselves, in stillness and in silence?

If it were in another country,  I bet they can make it organized... Sigh.

Anyway, despite all the chaos, thank God I still managed to enjoy the scenery.

My favorite part of the day was the photo session at the surrounding area of mount bromo. The sand, the hills, the savana.

Mentally Exhausted

First day of february

Some days are tough

Some days are easy

Today is a tough one

I feel like I don’t have enough energy left to care for her

I feel like I’m ready to give up

I feel like I have no clue what to do

I feel like I don’t have enough support

I feel like crying

I want to take care of her

God knows I want to take care of her

If only..

If only she’s a normal human being

If only she can express her feelings like a normal person

If only life had not been so tough on her

Then.. maybe I can make her happy

But right now

I’m thinking that I could never make her happy

She keeps demanding more

She keeps living in her own world

She keeps driving me crazy

Some days are tough

She yells at me.. screaming.. screaming.. screaming nonsense

Some days are easy

She acts like everything is normal

Today is a tough one

Today, I’m wishing I don’t have to carry this burden

Today, I’m thinking how to get rid of this burden

Today,..

I’m a really really bad person

....

Dear God, please give me the strength to face the things that I cannot change

Go there by taking the Star Ferry, u can use the octopus card.

See the symphony of light at 8 pm everyday.

Lantau Island : Tian Tan Buddha (Big Buddha)

Take the cable car from Tung Chung to Ngong Ping. Try the crystal cabin. I recommend to buy the cable car tickets online because the queue is very very long.  We went there on a Monday morning, and there’s already a queuing line.

Try the mid-level escalator at the city. We went the escalator nearest to one IFC:  from Hong Kong MTR Station Exit D.

Try the tram.

Macau
- Try 233 meter skywalk at Macau Tower. Not scarry at all : )  click here for the pictures    
- Senado Square & Ruins of The Church of St Paul. There’s a museum near the church ruins. U can take the escalator to the top for free and see the view of macau. click here for the pictures.
- The Venetian Hotel & Resort

-        Octopus card : HKD 150. Refund fee: HKD 9. U can refund at the airport express counter at the arrival hall of terminal 2

-          Airport Express: return HKD 180

-          Bus fare in macau is HKD 3.2

-          U can also take the free shuttle buses from the ferry terminal to many of the casinos

-       Ferry from Hong Kong to Macau (TurboJet): HKD 172 plus HKD 10 for booking fee if u buy online. Ferry from Macau to Hong Kong: HKD 184
