My last visit
to mount bromo was on July 2009.
So I think it’s
only appropriate to revisit this awe-inspiring place.
We departed
from Malang at 12.30 am and arrived at Mount Pananjakan at 3 am.
We
went to Pananjakan via Tumpang by Helios Transport’s land rover.at 3 am |
After taking a
sip of hot tea, we have to go to the viewing point and find a spot. And then we
had to wait about 1 hour . Freezing. Thank God the sun rises earlier this time
of the year. I couldn’t imagine if I have to wait for 2 hours in that kind of
temperature.
The sunrise
viewing spot was way more crowded than I imagined. Crowded and unorganized.
People went through the fence.. people stand on the very top of the fence..
people standing right in front of the other people.. all in the name of
‘wanting to enjoy the beautiful scenery laying in front of their eyes’. Well, it’s good that u appreciate nature that
much, but wouldn’t it be better if we could all just be civilized and organized
and enjoy the beautiful scenery by ourselves, in stillness and in silence?

Anyway, despite all the chaos, thank God I still managed to enjoy the scenery.
My favorite
part of the day was the photo session at the surrounding area of mount bromo. The
sand, the hills, the savana.
