Day 1
Landed at Minangkabau
International Airport at 9.20am. Grab breakfast at Lapau Nanyo. Continue to
Sawahlunto. Pit stop at Pondok Kopi Kawa Daun (Kopi Kawa Daun is made from
coffee leaf). Lunch at Dendeng Batokok.
Sawahlunto is a small
town with rich history, located in a valley. Love the vibe, the air, and the
ambience.
We spent the whole
afternoon visiting famous spots at Sawahlunto: silo (coal storage), Lubang
Suro, Infobox (Galeri Tambang Batubara), Museum Kereta Api (too bad the famous
Mak Itam was not in operation due to machine failure), Museum Gudang Ransoem
and Puncak Cemara. Had early dinner at Soto Urang Awak and some coffee at
Societeit Cafe, located just across the street from Ombilin Hotel.
