Kiluan, Lampung
A weekend trip with selected travelmates, as usual : )
8 pm from gambir on a Friday night, to start an 11-hour journey to kiluan, lampung. Our main goal is to see the famous dolphins.
On Saturday, we did a little trekking to see a waterfall, a little trekking on the island to see the ‘laguna’ and did a little snorkeling.
Spent the night at the beach, instead of the rented room, with a mat and a sleeping bag, accompanied by the ‘almost-full-moon’. Awakened by a splash of sea-water on our feet at ‘almost 5 am’. Huuu.. i wish i could write ‘awakened by the warm morning sun’ instead i have to write ‘awakened by the tide’. Hehee.. well i guess nothing beats sleeping at pasir panjang beach on kei island, maluku : )
Sunday morning.. 6 am. Start our quest to visit the home of the cute and restless dolphins. It took a while for us to finally see the dolphins but it surely worth the wait. There’re dolphins everywhere. But it’s so hard for me to photograph them. hmm... well... i guess i’ll just keep the image of the dolphins in my heart : )
For this spot also, i can’t say that i wanna come back again anytime soon. But it’s surely one of a-must-visit place, the dolphins are amazing.. and the beach is pretty, a little dirty though (i expect better).
What I think:
- The crossing to the island is a bit like east java’s sendangbiru beach.
- The variety of blue at the beach on the island is a bit like ambon’s liang beach.
- A must-visit place.. coz of the dolphins.. and the ‘blue’ (love the colour!)
- Make sure u bring antimo and mosquito repellent
